Words From a King. @raspyrawls
I know that this may be a sensitive subject for you, and all I have is My Word, but I can assure you that this is done strictly from my heart to help heal you. Let me start off by saying I Love You; And no person on earth should have to go through the experience in which you have. But if no one ever really stands up, the cycle will continue. So I decided to STAND UP, in hopes that you would join me.
According to RAINN (Rape, Abuse, & Incest National Network) 1 out of 6 American Women have been a victim of an attempted or completed rape in her lifetime. Other statistics show that more than half, 60% of all Black Women, are raped before the age of 18. These numbers are staggering alone. But when you add the years of the wound before any healing begins, this becomes an epidemic of enormous proportions. Some women never heal, especially in the Black Communities. Once the words counseling, therapist, psychiatrist, etc.. are mentioned, we immediately go into a shell.
It’s time to give a Voice to the Voiceless. It’s time to help heal these wounds, and I have just the plan to do it. Music is the closest thing to Spirituality, and should be made to Heal not kill. So I wrote a song for all the women who have been a victim of rape, to let them know I care. Let them know that I’m there. Let them know that what happened is not ok!
I would like to start this campaign off by hearing from YOU! If you have been a victim of this senseless act and would like to share your story through a video I would love to hear from you. DM or email email@example.com for more info.
We can sit back and wait for change to come, or we can be that change.”
